Why Yoga

There are loads of reasons that might bring someone to try Yoga:

- your back is aching for too much sitting in front of a computer...

- you live a stressful life and have heard that yoga might help to cope with the stress...

- your friend practices yoga and is bugging you to try it because “it will make you feel better, I promise!”...

It doesn’t really matter what brings you to yoga: any “excuse” is a good one to start the journey.

Yoga means union, and what we unify is ourselves, the different aspects of ourselves, our bodies, our mind and emotions and the divine spark of our soul, into a whole.

Iyengar® Yoga, based on the teachings of yoga master B.K.S. Iyengar, is rooted in the 2,500 year old classical yoga tradition of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. In the Sutra, Yoga is defined as “Citta Vrtti Nirodhah” , the cessation of movements in the consciousness. It is the art and science of mental discipline through which the mind becomes cultured and mature
